Base Map Layers: Stafford County's GIS Office provided a wealth of information and GIS data for use in the study. These layers included: Parcels, Buildings, Roads, Boundaries, Streams, Landuse, Public Water System, Tax Tile Grid and PDF maps, and 5-foot Contours.

USGS 7.5’ Topographic maps: can be obtained from a variety of sources. The GIS Center at Radford University is probably the best for the original Digital Raster Graphics (DRG). The version used on this project's internet map server is a customized set licensed by Draper Aden Associates.

Aerial Photos: (USGS Digital Orthophoto Quarter Quadrangles) can be downloaded from the Virginia Economic Development Partnership's GIS data server.

Geology: USGS Geologic Map Database of the Washington DC Area Featuring Data From Three 30 X 60 Minute Quadrangles: Frederick, Washington West, and Fredericksburg. 2001. Open-File Report: 01-227

Soils: The soil layer is available from USDA-NRCS SSURGO Database.

Well Logs: The water well logs were scanned at the Stafford County office of the Virginia Department of Health.
